Help Preserve the Legacy of Pablo Carreno

The Pablo Carreno Foundation is actively building a comprehensive archive to preserve and document the artist's extraordinary six-decade career. We invite collectors, friends, colleagues, and anyone who has crossed paths with Pablo Carreno to contribute materials that will help tell the complete story of his artistic journey.

What We're Seeking

Original Artwork

Paintings, drawings, sketches, studies, and works on paper from any period. Early works and preliminary studies are especially valuable for understanding the artist's creative process.

Photographs

Images of the artist at work, at exhibitions, with collectors, or in social settings. Photos from his early years in Havana, arrival in New York, Greenwich Village studio, and Miami connections through 2010.

Correspondence

Letters, postcards, notes, and written communications with the artist. These personal documents provide invaluable insight into his thoughts, relationships, and artistic philosophy.

Press & Publications

Exhibition catalogs, magazine articles, newspaper clippings, reviews, and any published materials featuring or mentioning Pablo Carreno's work.

Audio & Video

Recordings of interviews, exhibition openings, the artist speaking about his work, or any audio/visual documentation from any period.

Memorabilia

Exhibition invitations, posters, business cards, personal items, and any objects associated with the artist's life and career.

Periods of Special Interest

1940 - 1964

Early Years in Havana

Childhood drawings, early artistic experiments, documentation of life in Cuba before emigration, and any materials from his formative years.

1964 - 1980

Arrival in New York

Work from S. Klein department store, early Manhattan locations, Madison Avenue advertising era with SAMS, and the transition to fine art.

1980 - 2000

Chelsea/Greenwich Village Era

Documentation of the Chelsea & 8th Street studio, development of signature expressionist style, connections with the Village art scene, and early exhibition history.

Pre-2010

Early Miami Connections

Materials from exhibitions and relationships in Miami, Coral Gables, and South Florida art communities through 2010.

Reach out via email or phone to describe the materials you wish to donate. Include photographs if possible.

Our archival team will review your submission and discuss the donation process, including any documentation or provenance information.

Preservation

Accepted materials are professionally cataloged, preserved, and added to the Foundation's permanent archive for research and exhibition.
